Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 is almost here and it’s set to be yet another major overhaul for the ongoing battle royale. Here’s everything we’re expecting to see in Fortnite v24.00, and the Chapter 4 Season 2 early patch notes.
Fortnite Chapter 4 got underway with one of the biggest updates to hit the game to date. Players were treated to fresh mechanics like the Reality Augment perks, and major crossovers with franchises like The Witcher and My Hero Academia.
But the next major update is never too far away, and Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 is set to be another huge evolution for Epic’s popular BR.
So, let’s take a look at everything we know about Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2, including the early patch notes for the v24.00 update.
Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 start date & downtime
Epic Games have confirmed that Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2, titled Fortnite Mega, will begin on Friday, March 10, 2023.
The devs also announced that the downtime before the update will end begin at 2 AM ET / 11 PM PT / 7 AM GMT on March 10, and is expected to last anywhere between one and two hours.
During this time, the servers will be offline and you won’t be able to access Fortnite until the new season is live.
Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 first-person mode leaked
While the devs are yet to officially reveal what’s coming in the Fortnite v24.00 update, leaks have revealed that the long-awaited first-person mode could arrive. It’s unclear if this will be an LTM or a long-term addition, but fans will be eager to experience Fortnite in a totally different way.
Rumors of a first-person mode first emerged back in 2020, when HYPEX claimed that the feature was in development. Then, a glitch near the start of Chapter 4 seemed to show what the mode could look like.
Now, if leaks are to be believed, it seems like the wait is finally over and first-person Fortnite is coming in Chapter 4 Season 2.
Attack on Titan crossover in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2
Fortnite is well known for its crossovers, and it appears that the groundbreaking anime Attack on Titan will be the major collaboration in Season 2. Following the inclusion of Geralt last season, HYPEX and Shiina claimed AoT’s Eren Yeager will be the secret skin on the new Battle Pass.
Players can also expect plenty of Attack on Titan-themed cosmetics to go along with Eren, including an Emote, Icon, Pickaxe, Weapon Wrap, and even more pages that are yet to be revealed.
The AoT crossover fits in nicely with this season’s theme, which seems to be drawing inspiration from Japanese culture in many of its skins and locations.
Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 leaked skins
A host of other skins set to appear in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 have also leaked ahead of time. Among these is ‘Thunder,’ the lizard who featured on a Spray included in the Cipher Quest rewards from Season 1.
Shiina also claimed that two new Star Wars characters will make their debut after the update. While they couldn’t confirm which heroes or villains from the popular franchise it will be, fans have speculated that Emporer Palpatine, Darth Maul, or Anakin Skywalker could be the most likely candidates.
