Epic Games keeps Fortnite ticking over with regular content drops, and the 24.20 update is next up. So, here are the early patch notes for the Fortnite 24.20 update and a look at everything expected to arrive.
Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 is well and truly underway, and fans have wasted no time getting to grips with the many fresh weapons introduced and learning the new POIs added to the island.
The developers have also kept players satisfied with regular updates, bringing new events and Quests to complete. With the Spring Breakout Easter event coming to an end, v24.20 is set to deliver even more exciting content to bridge the gap until Season 3.
Here’s a look at the Fortnite 24.20 update early patch notes and break down everything expected to be included.
Fortnite 24.20 update release date & downtime
The Fortnite 24.20 update is due to arrive on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. A period of downtime should get underway at around 1 AM PT / 4 AM ET / 9 AM BST, meaning the servers will be offline and you won’t be able to join a match.
The downtime can last longer depending on how large the update is, but the game tends to be out of action between one and two hours.
Fortnite 24.20 update to bring Attack on Titan skins & Mythics
The Fortnite 24.20 patch will mark the arrival of three different Attack on Titan skins for players to unlock. First is Eren Jaeger, who can be earned through a series of challenges available to anyone who purchased the Chapter 4 Season 2 Battle Pass.
Then, two more characters from the iconic anime can be purchased from the in-game Item Shop – Mikasa and Levi Ackerman. We’ll have to wait for the bundles to be released to know how much each skin will cost, but it is expected to be around 1,500 V-Bucks.
Leaks from Shiina and HYPEX have also suggested that Attack on Titan-themed Mythic items will be added to the map. It remains to be seen exactly what these will be, but fans have speculated that the devs could add the Omni-directional Mobility Gear used by The Scouts as a way of quickly traversing the island.
Fortnite 24.20 new weapon leaked
Leaks have also revealed a new Smart Pistol that could arrive in the Fortnite 24.20 update. Little is known about this rumored new weapon, but based on the name and leaked screenshots, it seems that it could feature some kind of lock-on system.
This would allow players to hit their targets on the move without having to drastically adjust their aim.
Of course, this is all just speculation for now and we’ll be sure to update this section with any news on new or unvaulted weapons in the 24.20 patch.
Fortnite 24.20 update bug fixes
While we won’t know the full extent of the issues addressed in the Fortnite 24.20 update until the patch notes arrive, we can use the official Epic Games Trello board to gain an idea of the fixes it will include.
Here’s every bug fix expected to feature in the Fortnite 24.20 update:
General
- Stray’s mask appears crooked.
- The “Vital” audio track displays the incorrect season in the description.
- Some Back Blings appear to float and appear detached from the Highwire outfit.
- Trunks and branches of some trees move erratically.
Mobile & Cloud
- Some players using Android devices are unable to load into Creative maps.
